HIGH POINT — Alan Vernon Smith, 63, of High Point died Sunday at the Hospice Home at High Point. Born February 24, 1950, in Kansas, he is a son of the late Frank and Margaret Smith.

EAST SMITHFIELD, Penn. --Luther (Luke) Teague Smith III, age 67, died at the Sayre Health Care Center in Sayre, Pennsylvania, on November 13, 2018. He had been in declining health for several years.
Born on December 7, 1950, in High Point, North Carolina, he later moved to East Smithfield Pennsylvania where he owned and operated Carolina Wholesale Furniture for thirty years.
Luke is survived by his son Brandon Smith of Tampa, Florida; two brothers, Steve Smith of Thomasville, NC, and Phil Smith of High Point, NC; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Jordan Smith, age 5, and

HIGH POINT. HELEN MELINDA SPEARS SHANKLE was born in High Point, North Carolina on January 14, 1951 to Harmon and Margaret Watkins. She had one brother, Floyd Tyrone Watkins. She grew up in High Point in the big house and attended High Point Public Schools and graduated the first graduating class of T. Wingate Andrews in 1969. She also attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and First Baptist Church and was married on April 25th 1981 at First Baptist to Walter Frank.
