HIGH POINT…..  Mr. Garry Lee Harmon peacefully slipped away at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in his home with his wife and daughters by his side.



A celebration of Garrys life will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Aron P. Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery.



He was born Feb. 27, 1951, in High Point, son of F. T. and Marie Harmon. He was a graduate of High Point Central High School, Class of 1969, Garry earned his Real Estate license from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and had served in the Army National Guard. He grew up as a member of Brentwood Baptist Church and later joined First Wesleyan Church with his wife Crissie, where he was a member of the Outreach Sunday School Class. He was a manager for Harris-Teeter for 21 years, Prior to his illness he was the manager of Coldwell Banker. He had previously worked with Mabe and Co. Real Estate and Chambers Price and Britt. He was a member of the American Business Club, High Point Board of Realtors, High Point Elks Lodge and a board member of Oakview Recreation Club. He was preceded in death by his father, F. T. Harmon.



Surviving are his wife, Crissie Cook Harmon of the home; daughters Mandy of Raleigh and Trisha of ASU in Boone; mother Marie Harmon of High Point; foster brother Curtis Driggers and wife Fran of Ellerbe; and several cousins.



Visitation will be today from 6 until 8:30 p.m. at the Cumby Family Funeral Service, 1015 Eastchester Dr., High Point.

Garry was a gentle man, strong to his word. He was a loving husband, and father. He worked hard all his life to be the best man he could be for himself, his family, and his community. Garry had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious smile. His strength throughout the last four years was an inspiration, not only to his family, but also to everyone he knew. Garry was blessed with many close relatives and friends. We love you Dad, Mandy and Trisha.
